Another collaboration!!! Gareth Pugh teams up with Melissa, just as Vivienne Westwood did in 2009. Spring 2012 seems far away but it will give me enough time to decide if I like them or not...

I hate the word Boobs. I would prefer the flyer to read Breasts but I can't have my way all the time.
It's that time again but this one looks fun... I am volunteering my services to help coordinate the fashion show but there is still time to volunteer, DONATE, buy your tickets, donate services and auction items, etc... The list is endless.
So... purchase your ticket for Oct 19th at Key Club and come say hello. It's my birthday October 17th... so you have to!
In Late August I went home for a quick visit. My childhood home hasn't changed much. Country kitsch is a favorite of my mom's. The only difference is new horses (new to me) - my childhood horse past away two years ago after living for 28 years! And of course, white fluffy Bichons. Growing up we always had larger dogs: Saint Bernard, Springer Spaniel and an Airedale.
I asked my mom to take me vintage shopping but when you live in a rural area vintage shopping is more like yard shopping. We found these at a yard sale. F is for Fun and G is for Gold. Shiny gold.
I love Fridays.

Looks fun?
Or possibly both. Missoni collaborated with Target and it was so popular the Target website was down a couple of times. Now a "mother with a kid in college" is posting the Missoni for Target rain boots on Ebay.com with a "Buy It Now" price tag of $31,000. Yes - there are three zeros there. See for yourself. These are sold out via Target but initially were priced at $35. Other posts on ebay show the boots selling around $50.

Here are a pair of REAL MISSONI rain boots sans Target collaboration for under $400.

Saw these in Black and gold about a year ago. They recently came up on Gilt.com and I grabbed them. Jerome Rosseau is a new designer - he launched his line in 2008. His designs are always over the top and fun. Sometimes too fun for my taste. Check him out here.
TODAY, West Hollywood became the first city in the nation to approve a ban on the sale of fur clothing!
For me, this is categorized under things that make you go "hmmmm". Fur is fun. Killing animals in mean ways is not fun. I have a closet - not filled with fur, but there is enough in there to make any PETA member throw paint on me. Recently, I watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes and my heart stirred for the plight of Caesar. I compared my upheaval of emotion to my life habits and for about fifty minutes I contemplated never wearing fur or eating meat again. But after Caesar rose above the evil humans, I was reminded that the circle of life is more than a song in The Lion King. I'm not saying that the cow a Vegan doesn't eat is going to start to talk and violently attack humans but I just don't see the harm in eating meat and wearing fur as long as cruelty is taken out of the equation.
For now this is how I feel. In two weeks the West Hollywood City Council will meet again to determine the details of this ban. I am interested. Very interested.

On a recent trip to Fred Segal, I came across House of Harlow's jewelry line. Really amazing costume jewelry for decent prices. I purchased the stackable five ring set and the horseshoe bangle in gold. Find the new Fall collection here.

Can't stop these colors. Poodle skirts, motel wallpaper prints, conservative designs with slits of skin and bursts of pigments. I like you.
