Who wants to be a mother fucking super hero?!

I DO.

Make them yours or mine. And if you decide you don't want to be a super hero... the cape is removable.

Pierre Balmain!

Jenuine West - Thursday, July 28, 2011
The Good News: Come December, French fashion house Balmain is launching Pierre Balmain, a new lower-priced men's and women's line. The not-so-good news: Christophe Decarnin's predecessor is not designing it. British Vogue reports that the secondary line will be "created by a new design team" and "will not be overseen by the label's new creative director, Olivier Rousteing."

Hmm... This could go either way. I was never a fan of McQ compared to Alexander McQueen. H&M collaborations usually leave me in tears due to their ugliness, Target collaborations are even worse... While this isn't a collaboration, it worries me that there is a different design team...

The depth and detail used in their designs paired with their astronomical prices is what makes it a Balmain... For only a few to enjoy.

Dilute that and what do you have?

I guess we will have to wait till December to find out...

Happy Birthday Andrei!

Sober is Sexy is a relatively new shirt/accessory company campaigning against drugs. With slogans like:

5% of sales goes to a substance abuse organization which rotates every six months. I am intrigued. A new way to sport the X's of straight edges?

Black Umbrellas?!

Jenuine West - Wednesday, July 20, 2011
Has anyone else wondered why there were black umbrellas strategically placed on top of Paul Smith's pink building and other places along Melrose?

Mattia Biaga's Storm of Life is a solo installation at The Farmers and Merchants Bank Building at 411 S. Main Street in Downtown Los Angeles from July 14th to 30th. Using thousands of black umbrellas as his basic building material, Biagi will build an extraordinary environment that will take over the entire interior of a former bank, with winding pathways, towering structures and a full-scale domicile. Both tactile and conceptual, the experience will be intensely immersive and mark a distinct evolution in the artist’s career. Additionally, Twentieth Gallery, Paul Smith, and Barracuda stores in Los Angeles will present an installation of umbrellas at their locations. Read more about the artist here.

I actually did a DIY.

Jenuine West - Tuesday, July 19, 2011
Last weekend I attended my third wedding of the summer. I'm not complaining. I had a blast in the sun with friends - old and new in hot Puerto Rico. I did come to some realizations though. First, I need to start working out. I was the fattest of them all. You may call this notion an absurd one but seriously I was the fattie. Secondly, I need to find a new job that ensures the purchase of a private jet sometime soon. Any suggestions?

Usually if I read on the plane I automatically fall asleep. But on the flight eastbound, I didn't take any medications and ended up staying up. I finished reading Dry by Augusten Burroughs and making a couple bracelets.

Yes, I actually went through with a DIY via honestlywtf.com. Honestly, what a cute DIY. The closure is a little tricky as I'd like to find a better way to secure the bracelet besides a couple of knots but it works for now.

I found everything I needed at Kings Beads located at 309 N. Kings Rd. Los Angeles, 90048. If you can make it downtown, I am sure that you can get your supplies for cheaper... I spent about a hundred dollars but it included Swarovski crystals and pearls.

Bang Bang.

I have always wanted a 8MM gun with a mother of pearl grip.

It has been added to every wish list, Christmas list and birthday list with no success. I have had family members, friends and significant others warn me that if I was ever to get a real gun that I would be excommunicated from all existing relationship. I think now that I am older, more mature and not as hot-tempered as before that this ultimatum should be edited. Still while I pine away for a gun to call my own, I can fill the void with tequila.

Hijos De Villa Pistol Reposa!

Pistol shaped bottle where the tequila comes out of the barrel. Yum! After I finish the whole bottle and wipe the tears from my face (tears for a real gun) I can freshen up with my Chanel hand-gun compact.

The Dutch jewelry designer Ted Noten has made a group of handgun-shaped compacts as part of a series he calls Seven Necessities. Each faux firearm is devoted to a different cosmetic giant, Dior and Chanel among them. The guns are produced on a 3-D printer, then retrofitted with hand-tooled 18-karat gold details and loaded with all the ammunition a woman needs to survive the war between the sexes. There’s a lip gloss in the muzzle, various pills (including Viagra) in the loading chamber, 100 grams of certified silver bullion in the Dior gun clip (50 grams of 24-karat gold in the Chanel), a toothpick and, in some models, a hairpin and a small vial of perfume. The guns also conceal a 4-gigabyte thumb drive for snapshots, personal data and corporate secrets.

So if anyone has an extra 11k to 17k laying around, I'd appreciate the handgun-shaped compact. A gift like this will save you if I ever get a real gun.

Rose Gold RAWR

Jenuine West - Friday, July 08, 2011
Rose gold is on the rise.

I have never been an accessory person. I do not have a lot of jewelry but my collection is growing. Recently I saw a street style picture of a woman's wrist and she had paired some chains with a Cartier watch. I goggled rose gold chain bracelet and this is what I found:

Marc by Marc Jacobs Turnlock Katie Bracelet comes in gold, rose gold and silver. You also have the option for a width of 1/2 or 3/4 of an inch. I picked the smaller rose gold on the advice of my better half. You can get yours here.
