Titanic Ballet Pump

Jenuine West - Tuesday, February 09, 2010
The question always remains: Why couldn't Jack and Rose rotate on and off of that wooden door?

Maybe McQueen thinks the same way I do, maybe we are soul mates, maybe he just understands how to merge weird with a softness that can only be translated into this shoe:

According to Alexander McQueen on Melrose - this is the only shoe resembling the runway Spring/Summer 2010 collection that is being released. The rest of the shoes will be special order only and most likely have a price tag of 5k and up. They are not in stores yet but I am waiting patiently. I have scoured the internet looking for a picture of the Titanic pump in petrol, as it was rumored to be released but could find nothing.

But I am a bad girl, I have ordered a 38 and a 39 to the Melrose store in black and the salesclerk was gracious enough to send me a photograph from the lookbook. Will it arrive in time for my NY trip? Most likely not, but a girl can dream. I pray this will fit me perfectly because as of right now, they are the heels of my dreams.

And a bit more practical for everyday wear...

New York, New York, New York.

I wish I could honestly say I am going to be there the entire week, reporting what I love and what needs to come back to Los Angeles with me. But alas, my tortuous real life work that allows survival in every form demands my presence next week. Which allows me about 3 days in the big apple, Ill try to catch a show or two and definitely the Seven New York 10 year anniversary. (One of my favorite Soho and online showrooms) http://sevennewyork.com/

Maybe next year Ill be allowed the time to revel in 7 straight days of fashion insanity. But until then, I will wait patiently. Not really...

In other fashion news, Avatar-esque themes are taking over the world. Jumping on the 3-D bandwagon, Burberry’s Fall Show will live stream in 3-D. Burberry's Christopher Bailey says "3D technology will bring our global audience into the London show space allowing them to see the colors and fabrics, to hear the music and to be a part of that moment when it all finally comes together.'' Catch the live stream on February 23rd, at 4 p.m.- London time.  http://live.burberry.com/

Despite my love for anything black, reconstructed and weird, there is a huge part of me that loves classic nova check prints, pearls and Chanel-lady-like style. Although recently, Burberry has increased their modernism in their pieces, Burberry still remains in my closet, on my person and in my heart.

Shoot me. I dare you.

Have you ever wished Bulletproof armor was a bit more stylish, light weight, and wearable? Even affordable?

Colombian tailor Miguel Caballero specializes in bullet proof garments that combine comfort, style and security. Still a couple steps away from couture; his shirts, suit coats, and jackets are a huge step towards a fashion-forward, bullet proof clad man or woman. Designated the Armani of bullet proof clothing his Italian-theme line includes blazers, leather jackets, coats, rain-coats, dress shirts, t-shirts, polos, vests and more. Custom made clothing can be made by request and different levels of security are offered: low to high. The low level includes protection from hand guns and revolvers, while the medium level protects against sub machine guns, and the highest level protects against high powered assault rifles and machines guns. The pieces range from $350 to $10,000, which is quite reasonable when dealing with protection against machine guns.

Although, Colombian based, you can find a Miguel Caballero Boutique in the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City among Burberry and Gucci.

A quick flight from Los Angeles to the DF, you could own your own bullet proof leather jacket or polo shirt. But if you aren’t up for the 4 hour flight and the 3 hour wait at the DF airport, with a quick visit to their website, you can order the clothing online! www.miguelcaballerousa.com

Valentine’s Day is coming up and I want a custom made leather jacket, bullet proof please! And a semi-automatic to test it out.

Barney's and Apt-3, Oh my.

Jenuine West - Tuesday, February 02, 2010
Unfortunately for our wallets, there is always a reason to shop. Two come to mind this week.

First, Barney’s Warehouse Sale starts Thursday, February 4th thur Monday, February 15th at the Los Angeles Convention Center South Hall, 1201 South Figueroa Street. 50% - 75% off regular prices on clothing, shoes, accessories and gifts for the home.

Apartment-3 may not be as familiar to the ear as Barney’s, but it should be. This past summer I was perusing the Roosevelt pool side on a Tuesday evening. Okay, I lie, not really perusing as the males I was with, including my boyfriend, outnumbered the females I was with. But something shiny and handsome did catch my eye. In one of the pool side suites was a pop-up shop. They were harboring hipster jewelry and some nice pieces of clothing. My counterpart and I bought matching shirts in different colors: chains on the shoulders with a very revealing back, if you know me, you’ve seen me wear it and have seen my nipples fall out of it.

This Saturday, February 6th, 1pm to 6pm they are holding a Pre-Valentine Day Penthouse Suite shopping event at the Standard Downtown, 550 South Flower Street.. Find them in Room 1214 with free drinks, a DJ and some incredible deals. Many of the items will be $45 and under. RSVP to RSVP@apartment-3.com
