We are coming to the end of my birthday month...

Jenuine West - Friday, October 29, 2010
Again, I have been absent from the world wide web. I have to say though, even though my birthday month is not over yet, it had to be best birthday I’ve had in a long time. Not only for the presents, which I will get to in a bit, but for that feeling, one may call “touched”. From girls flying in from New York, to a loving boyfriend and to wonderful friends – I felt and feel extremely loved.
I celebrated with my dog, Dashka. Her birthday fell on October 16th, a day before mine… She turned 1 and I turned late 20ish. We had a fully equipped karaoke party with open bar and yummy treats.

Now… presents… I will focus on fashion-centric presents… I was so surprised and felt faint to open a present with my favorite Chanel logo on it – a gift certificate in extremely generous form to go towards a pair of boots I had expressed love for. Along with a gift card from Bona Drag and Maxfield’s – I am excited to browse my favorite stores for a new piece. Let me emphasize my extreme thanks and complete appreciation for the wonderful gifts but most of all the participation of all my friends celebrating my birthday with me is what touched my heart.

A few days after my special day, I left for a mini-European tour. Amsterdam, London, and I am now located in Kiev. I leave in the morning for Moscow, for a Nonstop weekend with Julia Govor…

While shopping was not the focus of this trip I can tell you fur is not a stereotype that I have surpassed while in Kiev. A couple new pairs of heels/boots, new furs, and even a new handbag… and an amazing pair of leggings will be the future topics of new posts along with pictures from my trip but until then…. Have a happy and safe Halloween!

McQueen, I can't escape you....

Jenuine West - Friday, October 08, 2010
Since these came out in 2009, I think I am safe to say that I am not going against my anti-Mcqueen post Lee McQueen.

What a wonderful way to start out a weekend. Day 8 of birthday month is looking up. Is there a leather theme in my life for October?!

McQueen S/S 2011

Jenuine West - Thursday, October 07, 2010
I didn’t like Alexander McQueen 2011. WHY?

Because Lee didn’t do it.

I am still upset and even though I know I am being bias here, the pieces are okay... I should like this though....

Watch the show here...

Yohji Yamamoto

Jenuine West - Tuesday, October 05, 2010
Last Friday Yohji Yamamoto showed his Spring 2011 line.

Minimal, very minimal. Women who normally would not be attracted to his Gothic couture may be now. I still would wear about 90% that walked down the runway. Just ignore the greasy hair and ghostly complexions. oooOOOooooooooOOoooooo. That is a ghost.

Day 5 of Birthday Month and only 2 gifts...

Jenuine West - Tuesday, October 05, 2010
Birthday month isn’t going as well as I expected. I hit a little snag in selfishness.

October 2nd, I went to go find a new pair of shoes at Nordstrom Rack, hoping I wold find another pair of Jimmy Choo’s hidden in an unmarked box like last time; I had no such luck. I tried my hardest to find something to buy but their selection for females makes me want to vomit.

Trying to contain the vomit rising from my esophagus, I walked to the men’s section and ended up buying my bf clothes. What?! I know, its my birthday month and I am buying him stuff. Two long sleeved shirts and a Burberry sweater.

Gift 2 of birthday month, I purchased Cosabella Aire Low Rise Mesh No Panty Line Thong.

That is a mouthful. They are soft and actually comfortable.

So far, I am only on gift 2 and it is 5 days into October...  I am failing my own holiday.

Hanamania, JW and SM.

Jenuine West - Monday, October 04, 2010
Hanamania is located in Hollywood. This woman knows how to work with feathers. From delicate pieces with 14kt gold chains to just the feathers alone, her wispy earrings worn as one or a pair can accentuate any outfit and bring an earthy undertone to their ensemble. Short hair - even better - who needs extensions when you have feathers. For a long time, made and given as gifts to her friends, JW is bringing her to you. More designs to come soon...  Buy now here.

JW, that’s me. I seriously want to do everything. Right now there are accessories available but I am working on clothing, swimsuits and anything that comes to my mind. Original only in my mind and a self-proclaimed ability to tell other people what to do and how I want it, who knows what will come next. Buy now here.

SM stumbled upon their design in the search of an ultimate party costume. A collaboration between Shelly Erion and Marcia Uruchurtu, the tail speaks for itself. Black feathers gleaming with a jade green can work over a skirt, pants, underpants or nothing. You know those crazy days when you wished you had a feather headpiece? Well, wish no longer. Made to custom fit you. Shake your tail feathers, literally. Order now here.

Gabriela Artigas

Jenuine West - Monday, October 04, 2010
Gabriela Artigas as a jewelry designer is just one of the many hats she wears but an amazing one. Combining delicacy with firmness her pieces are always stunningly beautiful and fun. From Mexico City, she now resides and constructs her masterpieces in Los Angeles. She is a designer to watch and to buy from here.

Retail... is here!

Jenuine West - Monday, October 04, 2010
I always wanted something that no one else would be wearing. Even in my prom dress days, I had my fabulously gay boss at (Eddie Bauer) make me a gold and black velvet gown. I wish I still had a picture of it... but I wasn’t disciplined in keeping photographs. He made costumes for all the Drag Queens at our local gay club - Marcella’s. I guess I have and always will have a little tranny in me.

Maybe it was because I was made to wear the worst clothes ever invented when I was growing up. From dresses with wire hoops and checkered aprons to pleated pants when they were not "cool" at all. I remember this hideous color block shirt I was forced to wear until I accidentally spilled bleach on it.

There is something magical about being able to reinvent yourself every time you put on clothing.

We went live today. Even if its several months behind schedule, it is finally alive. While it is a small selection of pieces; I stand behind them in style and some of them I have even designed myself. So the next couple posts will be a highlight of the Designers featured on JW - all designed in Los Angeles. Thanks for reading and thanks for buying (hopefully). Click here.

Balmain not Bald Man, which is something you need to afford these pieces.... a bald, rich man. But wait, wouldn't a rich bald man have money for hair?

Jenuine West - Friday, October 01, 2010
Did you know my boyfriend played at an opening of a store in Kiev, called Icon and they had a Balmain fashion show?

Did you also know that after I have gone to almost every party he has ever thrown or played and I had to miss the one I would actually DIE or KILL to go to...

Why am I reminded about this horrible oversight?

Balmain Spring 2011 showed yesterday in Paris. Holy batman safety pins and bedazzled studs of epic proportions. I am less interested in the couture Hot Topic-esque pieces then the amazing bottoms! The studs and safety pins are just too much, even if they are Balmain but give me those bottoms.

Who agrees with me that my bf should quit techno and only play at fashion shows where they pay ME in clothes?

Have a good weekend.
